At Ross Feller Casey, Jennifer L. Russell devotes her practice primarily to representing those catastrophically injured by medical negligence, particularly in cases involving obstetrical and neonatal malpractice and birth injuries.
In her 15 years as a plaintiff’s attorney, Russell, a partner, has racked up an impressive resume for her work on a series of multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements and is widely recognized as a top litigator in brain and birth injury cases.
She has assisted founding partners Robert Ross, Joel Feller and Matt Casey in securing substantial settlements on behalf of infants, children and teens who have suffered a broad spectrum of permanent neurological, physical and neurodevelopmental injuries as a result of delays in delivery and improper prenatal management, as well as fatal injuries resulting from substandard emergency department care provided to adult patients.
At Ross Feller Casey, Russell consistently handles some of the firm’s most substantial cases and has played an indispensable role in some of the largest recoveries in Pennsylvania history.
Russell began her legal career with one of Philadelphia’s most prominent defense firms, Pepper Hamilton, LLP, where she represented corporate clients in defense of complex civil litigation including pharmaceutical, mass tort, toxic exposure, products, and premises liability. While there, she served as liaison counsel for a group of pharmaceutical defendants in the much-publicized “fen-phen” diet drug litigation and successfully negotiated their dismissal from hundreds of cases.
In 2001, she redirected the focus of her practice from the defense to the plaintiff’s bar to represent victims of medical malpractice and other personal injury claimants, contributing to a number of seven-figure verdicts and settlements with the respected firm of Litvin, Blumberg, Matusow & Young.
Before joining Ross Feller Casey, Russell worked for Kline & Specter, P.C.
Russell graduated maxima cum laude from La Salle University in 1990. She received her law degree in 1996, magna cum laude, from Temple University School of Law, where she received several awards for her outstanding trial advocacy and litigation strategy skills.
Russell is licensed and admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, and the American Association for Justice.
