In an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Ross Feller Casey founding partner Matt Casey recalled key meetings between his clients and the man Penn State hired to negotiate settlements over the Jerry Sandusky child sexual assault scandal.

Casey described how he and fellow partner, Joel J. Feller, decided it was crucial for Penn State negotiator Michael K. Rosen to meet, one on one, with the victims the firm represents.

Several of the seven victims, the paper reported, came face to face with Rozen in a conference room on the 34th floor of the firm's office, with its sweeping view of Philadelphia.

Casey told reporter Jonathan D. Silver that he wanted Rozen and his clients, the trustees of Penn State, to see for themselves "the pain that in many cases was written on the faces of the person, the young man, sitting across the table from him.

"It was our job to show Penn State who these young men were and what they had gone through, what it's wrought in their lives."

Earlier this week, Penn State confirmed that it is spending nearly $60 million to settle sexual abuse claims by 26 Sandusky victims.

Ross Feller Casey represents seven of them, more than any other single firm. They included Sandusky's adopted son, Matt, as well as Victims 2, 3, 7 and 10.
