Legal Journal: Ross Feller Casey files first-of-its-kind testosterone lawsuit in Philadelphia

The Pennsylvania Record reported today that Ross Feller Casey has filed the first personal injury lawsuit involving a testosterone-containing drug in Philadelphia, and one of only a very few brought to date nationwide.

The legal journal reported that the case involves an Alabama man, Robert Hoehl, who suffered a stroke while taking Testim, one of many so-called "Low T" therapy drugs on the market. Among other things, the suit says that Testim caused the stroke and that the maker and co-promoter of the drug -- Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and GlaxoSmithKline, LLC, respectively -- used deceptive marketing techniques to promote the drug.

The suit comes on the heels of the FDA's decision in January to review all Low T drugs based on two recent studies that demonstrated they greatly increased the risks of serious cardiovascular events, including heart attacks and strokes, in men.
